Catching Up

Hi Harper,

I've been slacking lately with the entries. I'll try and catch up because so much has happened in the past few weeks, its hard to find time to sleep let alone keep things updated here.

Your Baptism has come and gone, so has Halloween. I've gone some good pictures of both which I'll share soon.

We've had your 4 month check up, you're still HUUUGGEEE, you're in the 99.96th percentile for height. Basically you're a 4 month old in a 8 month old's body. You were up to 15.2 lbs (60th percentile). You're getting too big for mom to carry for long periods of time. (She's not very happy about that)

You had your first sleep over at Aunt Michelle's on Halloween. We also had a major snow storm that night. We didn't get much in the city but Auntie Meg and Jo got 22 inches!

You're doing well and settling into a nice routine at daycare, you're obviously the favorite of all the folks over there. You're they're little muñeca.

I have to run for now. More posts to come soon!

I love you.

Baptism Invites are Here!

You're Cordially invited....

So it only took your mother 2 hours at the paper store to get these guys mocked up. Only to have them printed, at home and freak out that we should have written Baptism instead of Christening... Well I hope you'll forgive us. At least you have a cute picture thanks to Andi!

As I write this Mom is currently sitting on the couch behind me feverishly searching online for your dress for the ceremony. More details to come I suppose. Would you be fine with the Dior dress?

Love you much,

Mom & Dad

Group Nap Time

Fingers!

Harps,

Big news this weekend. You've figured out how to get your fingers in your mouth. A major milestone considering you hate your pacifier but want something to suck on to soothe yourself to sleep. Anyways, after a number of finger related injuries (see scratches on face or fingers up nose) I think it is safe to declare victory. Oh and its not just one finger, I'm pretty sure it'd be your whole hand if it would fit.

Love you much.

2 Months!

Hi Harps,

2 Months old last week. Here's the evidence.

Love you,

Dad

POOP

Hgc

I want you to know how much your poop matters. Back when we first got Ainsley dad and I went through a phase where all we would talk about was whether Ainsley pooped. Now with you it's about whether you pooped, when, how much, the color, the texture. We sound like crazy people. I actually get sad when I miss a poop and dad has to change it. I get depressed and anxious when you don't poop for a few days. One day when you have children and I tell you not to worry you can remind me how much I worried and I will remind you that in the end green, liquidy, stinky, or every 7 days didn't matter as long as you were happy.

Love you pooper

A note from Mom

Hgc

Mom here. I just found out about this blog that dad created. I am sitting her watching you nap right now. You are such an angel when you sleep. You are 9 weeks and two days today. The past 7 weeks have been a blur. At 4 weeks you were already 10 pounds 6 ounces. At 8 weeks you were 11 pounds 9 ounces and 24 3/8 inches. 99.5th percentile for your age. Last night was the first night you slept through the night. I am still sleeping in the guest room since you take after dad and are a noisy sleeper. So nights are you dad and Ainsley snoring. Days are you and me and some visitors that come during the week.

We have been working on napping in the crib for the past few days, you make it pretty tough on us and yourself but I think we will get it eventually. I apologize for any missed sleep you are having because of it. Today you grabbed a toy and pulled it down for the first time. Oh and you are all smiles for the past few days. I have waited so long for those smiles. Such a pretty face.

I want you to know how much you are loved. You might drive me crazy when you will only sleep for 30 minutes but it's worth it when I get to see that toothless grin. I will write again soon, depending on when you let me :)

2 Weeks

HGC.

2-Week Update. You hate sleeping at any rational hour. Specifically the hours between 3-5 AM are noteworthy as I do not believe you've slept during those hours yet.

You have however developed a fine relationship with the dog. You both have several interests in common. Mostly notably, eating, sleeping & pooping.

Mamma Anna spent the past week staying with us helping to take care of you. Grandpa Ron & Auntie Meg came to visit and Pampa also came up to see you.

You are starting to gain weight, at your two week doctor's appointment you weighed in at 8lbs 15 oz. I suspect you're more than that as I write this as this morning we discovered that you've pretty much outgrown all of your infant clothes. On to the 3 month variety.

You went for your first walk in the park this week. We brought the dog. He stayed clean for maybe half the walk.

Love you much.

RE: Your Mother

Harper. Could you please move around and stop causing your mother pain at 2:15 in the morning so that she and subsequently I can get some sleep?

That is all.

It begins...

Harper,

This is your father. I don't know where this will go what it will eventually look like or when you will see this. But I want you to know who you are, where you've come from and have a living record of your life.

I'm sitting here writing this about 2 weeks before your due date, and I'm slowly coming to the realization that I should just be prepared to be unprepared for what life will bring starting in 2 weeks.

There is much to do, and much to tell you about things up until this point. Once I figure out how to set up this blog I hope to share with you all of the images/video/etc of your life.

Until next time.

Love you.
